2017 Community Grant: Boulia Shire Council

Strategy: Walkway Signage

Boulia Shire Council was one of nine 10,000 Steps Community Grant recipients awarded funding for the implementation of 10,000 Steps Community Strategies in 2017. Upgrades have been made to the public park along the main street of Boulia and the walkway signage would help to direct the public to the main locations in the town.

Background

Boulia Shire Council is a local government who wants to encourage the community in their town to walk instead of drive, to raise awareness of the alternate routes through town to different points of interest and to help promote physical activity in the community as a whole. The Boulia Shire Council produces a brochure on walking routes in the town area, the new walkway signage will add to this.
