Tournaments are our most popular step challenge.
Many members join 10,000 Steps to participate in a Race or Timeout Tournament with their workplace or community organisation. Check out Where is my Tournament? if you are looking for guidance on finding an existing Tournament.
Tournaments
Tournaments are free to create and join, starting at a medium level of setup complexity. Tournaments are ideally suited to mid to large-sized organizations, offering a versatile and engaging platform for promoting physical activity.
Tournaments can be set up to start any day of the year. With a total participant limit of up to 250,000 members across up to 500 Teams, Tournaments support a broad range of team sizes to suit most organisations.
Tournaments offer comprehensive activity tracking options, including tracker syncing and direct entry, along with the ability to log activity minutes. The Tournament Leaderboard is available to all Team Members on both website and app. Each Team is able to view their own Team's steps in detail, and other Teams steps in summary.
Tournaments have a range of dedicated support for Coordinators, their Team Captains and Team Members.
Create Tournaments through your Coordinator Hub
Our Coordinator Hub is a dedicated hub of information of current and past Tournaments, with Coordinator-only Statistics, Leaderboards, and history for the organisation, including lifetime achievements for the Organisation across all Tournaments. Coordinators have access to all Tournament Teams in detail, and extensive downloadable Tournament Statistics.
Workplace and Community Organisations also have access to an extensive library of Coordinator Resources, including state-specific information, promotional materials, action plans, strategies, and guides.
Race Tournaments
Race Tournaments offer participants journeys with milestones. At each milestone, a new location and image is unlocked for the Team. Coordinators can choose the start date, and add an optional Race Tournament name.
There are nine Race Tournaments to choose from, ranging from 1.8 million steps to 9.3 million steps. Race Tournament Leaderboards sort teams based on the fastest accumulation of total steps, with the winning team the first to reach the final journey destination.
More information on deciding which Tournament type suits your Organisation is available is available in Coordinator Support.
Timeout Tournaments
Timeout Tournaments offer participants a time-limited activity. Coordinators can choose the start date and end date of their Timeout, and add an optional Timeout Tournament name.
Timeout Tournaments can be run for 1 day up to 182 days, starting any day of the year. Timeout Tournament Leaderboards sort teams based on total steps, or average steps, with the winning ranking type decided by the Coordinator.
