2017 Community Grant: Western Downs Regional Council

Strategy: Walkway Signage

Western Downs Regional Council was one of nine 10,000 Steps Community Grant recipients awarded funding for the implementation of 10,000 Steps Community Strategies in 2017. Western Downs Regional Council installed signage on existing walkway paths and was able to encourage physical activity participation on safe, accessible and connected network around the community.

Background

Western Downs Regional Council is a local government with the vision statement of: "The Western Downs region will be known for its active and healthy population." The addition of the walkway signage that promotes the use of the paths to encourage physical activity will work towards Council's vision for a healthy and active community.
